ULON: Empowering Lives, Building Futures
ULON stands for United Legion One Nation, an influential 501(C)3 organization committed to addressing economic disparities, providing support and opportunities for formerly incarcerated individuals and at-risk youth. Our primary objective is to enable them to lead honest lives, steer clear of imprisonment, and foster long-lasting prosperity.
ULON was established by Pete Esaun Keller, a reformed ex-offender and former gang member. Taking shape from his second-story apartment in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, this grassroots initiative emerged as the United Legion, One Nation (ULON). Passionate about creating positive change, Pete envisioned a resourceful platform that could support those previously entangled in the criminal justice system, along with their loved ones, and at-risk youth who find themselves adversely affected by society's justice system. ULON aims to provide them with the essential aid and resources required to veer away from lifestyles that often lead to imprisonment or even worse outcomes.
We, at ULON, believe in the transformative power of our specially crafted resources. By offering tailored guidance, targeted assistance, and access to necessary resources, our organization aims to empower and uplift individuals who have faced the challenges of incarceration. Simultaneously, we strive to protect at-risk youth from becoming entangled in a cycle that can hinder their potential and future prospects.
Through our various programs, ULON works persistently to address the economic disparities that disproportionately affect formerly incarcerated individuals and at-risk youth. With our unwavering dedication, we aim to equip them with the tools and support they need to not only earn an honest living but also forge a path towards a prosperous and fulfilling life.

Backstory

After serving 4-stints in the penitentiary, Keller hit rock-bottom. He painfully recalls being released back into society with no help or even the basic necessities. No clothes, no home, no job, no money, no transportation, distant family, and hungry. The economic struggles left him torn between the opportunity to change his life and make an honest living or the life of crime he once knew. Keller discovered being labeled as a ***FELON meant no one wanted to give him a chance, nor hire him , trust him as a tenant, nor even help him.

Despite these pitfalls, by the grace of God Keller managed to not only change his life for the better, but he spends everyday of his life helping others to do the same.
